Captured while trying to cross the border, she finds herself facing death in Helgen and the Imperial troops ignoring her claims to be a member of the press. Just as she thinks it's all over, a miracle happens and she runs for her life.

Determined to report on the goings on in Skyrim, but scared that the Imperials might finish the job they started in Helgen, she decides to write under the pseudonym 'A' to hide her identity.

Having struck out at the Thalmor Embassy, Alex heads to Whiterun to look into a possible lead on dragon attacks. A lead takes her away from Skyrim to the island of Wyrmstooth ... at the invitation of a dragon!

Running down Delphine's fellow Blade in Riften, Alex sees an opportunity for some investigative reports into the Thieves' Guild. But things take a shocking turn.

Honour Among Thieves
Karliah rescues Alex and asks her to help prove Mercer's wrongdoing to the Guild. And after Mercer's attempted murder, it is now personal for Alex. But the path to vengeance leads to precious gemstones known as the Eyes of the Snow Elves and the daedric prince Nocturnal.

Alex returns to Riverwood to see if Esbern can come up with something they can use against Alduin. He has information that leads to an ancient Akaviri temple and a long-forgotten Shout. But how can Alex learn a Shout that no one knows?

Downfall
After the confrontation on the mountain, Alduin has flown away and Alex has no idea where he has gone. Now she needs to find some way to discover his location, but that means getting involved in the civil war raging in Skyrim.
